Mr Bonnyman began his Haidong Gumdo journey searching for a way to challenge himself and build connections. What started as a personal pursuit soon grew into a lifelong passion knowing true skill only comes with constant hard work and dedication.
Currently a 4th degree black belt, Mr Bonnyman has over 22 years of training in Haidong Gumdo and has competed in 8 international competitions including the 2012 World Championships in Korea, 2018 Nationals in Mexico City and 2024 Panams in Salt Lake City. He has been instructing for over 11 years and sucessfully coached students to podium finishes at the 2018 Mexico Nationals and 2024 Panams.
Mr Bonnyman’s teaching philosophy centers around respect and discipline, helping ensure his students develop both the physical conditioning and mental focus to succeed beyond the dojang. His message to new students: “Black Belt is where your training truly begins.”
